To make sure this event is a tremendous success for the kids, we need you to get involved! Join us on November 18th as we Dance for the Chance to make a difference. There are three primary ways to get involved. You can be a DANCER, which are the heart & core of SMUDM. You can be a COMMITTEE MEMBER and help with the planning of the event. Or you can be an EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER and lead & shape the direction of the organization! See below for more information on all three!
Dancers are the heart and core of the SMUDM. On November 18, 2018 dancers will stand for 12 hours at the Dance Marathon while participating in games, learning the SMUDM dance for this year, enjoying the SMUDM Rave, listening to Children’s Health family stories, and learning more about SMUDM. Dancing is a great way to get involved on campus and as you make a difference in the lives of many children, you will remember this experience always.
Dancers are welcome to join SMUDM as individuals, but we also encourage dancers to gather at least 10 friends (sorority sisters, fraternity brothers, organization members, residential commons, etc..) and create their own teams.
We dance to make the dreams of tomorrow a reality and we hope that you join us in bringing smiles to children who need our help.
Dancers must raise $100
FOR THE KIDS.
To ensure a successful dance marathon, many volunteers need to come together in the planning of this fabulous event.
There are 8 SMUDM committees. A complete description of them is found under Leadership & Committees - here.
To serve as a committee member, please contact us at email@example.com and we will get you involved!!
Occasionally, even at the beginning of the Fall semester some committees may find themselves needing additional help. If you would like to jump in - near the end of the planning phase, please contact SMUDM4KIDS@gmail.com to see if your help is needed.
Committee members must raise $250 FOR THE KIDS.
EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER
The leadership for SMUDM rests in the Executive Board. There are three VPs and then each committee has a directors.
The Executive Board works tirelessly for a year trying to put together an event that will be enjoyed by the Dancers, and one that is financially successful in raising money for Dallas Children's Health.
If you are interested in serving on the Executive Board of Dance Marathon, applications will be available in December of each year. Complete your applications and anticipate hearing back about an interview process.
Executive Board members must raise $350
